What to Expect in the New Washington State Energy Code for Commercial Buildings

Washington State has delayed the latest (C-2021) commercial code several times.  The most recent delay is till March 15th, 2024.  Buildings permitted after March 15th, 2024, will be required to meet the building thermal envelope test, also known as an air barrier testing, as required by C402.5.3 of the Washington State Energy Code 9WSEC C-2021.

What exactly does that mean for general contractors?  Here is an easy comparison between the C-2018 and C-2021 code.
