Energy Incentives, INC offers some unique advantages over other air barrier testing companies. Find out why we are the preferred “whole building air tightness” testing company for many builders in the Pacific Northwest.
We make every effort to be prepared for the test and to fit within your schedule.
- We will make a testing plan and review it with the General Contractor. Before we come on the jobsite, we will have an idea where our set-up will be, what our electrical needs will be, and what preparations need to be made.
- We will have a virtual pretest meeting. We will share our test plan with your electrician and your HVAC contractor. A common delay in air barrier testing is overloading the electrical circuit. We will avoid that delay by communicating our needs to your electrician and coming prepared with the proper equipment to match your electrical set up. We will communicate with the HVAC contractor so they can disable the necessary equipment and enable it when we are done with our test.
- Well before the test we will make sure you know what preparations you need to make to the building. This may include any lift work on the exterior of the building, such as sealing large exterior exhaust fans on the side of the building. Some minor carpenter work for safety measures may be needed. For instance, blocking elevator openings.
- The day before the test our Project Foreman will visit your site to make sure the building is ready for testing. We will determine what additional test preparations we need to make. If everything is ready, we will schedule our technicians for the day that fits best in your schedule. We often work on Saturdays to avoid disruption of your other trades.
- Our main office is located Eastern Washington. Our primary target market is the Pacific Northwest. However, we recognize that some projects will require traveling great distances.
- Energy Incentives, INC will help you maximize your blower door tests by bundling with other services offered. - Energy Incentives INC has been in operation as a building science company for over 25 years. During that time, we have always been a women owned business. In 2020 we decided to become recognized by Washington State Office of Minority & Women’s Business Enterprise (OMWBE) as a Women Business Enterprise (WBE) and a Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE). We hope that our designation can assist your company in meeting any diversity goals your client requires or prefers.
- In 2023 Energy Incentives became designated by the Small Business Administration as a HUBZone. Meaning we are located in a historically underutilized business zone. The federal government has a goal of awarding at least 3% of federal contract dollars to HUBZone-certified companies each year. If you have a federal contract, we hope this designation can help you in meeting your contracting requirements.
